Audio effects.
« on: January 31, 2011, 02:35:12 AM »
There are a few old posts on the subject of audio, mostly requesting Hollywood sound effects associated with explosions and colliding planets.  Audio was deemed a low priority, which I understand.

However, radio telescopes "hear" things and can generate audio.  For example I understand Sputnik is still beeping.  There are also pulsars.

Also, is it worth adding man-made satellites to the palette?

Peter.

I'm pretty sure Sputnik burned up reentering the atmosphere more than 50 years ago.

Adding sound effects to US 2.0 or even 3.0 would be a great idea.
I could help make audio effects and help with that part of Universe Sandbox if needed.

Launched on 4 October 1957,"[Spuntinik's] signals continued for 22 days until the transmitter batteries ran out on 26 October 1957. Sputnik 1 burned up on 4 January 1958"

Good idea, either way.

I do plan to add sound. I suspect the first pass will likely include UI sounds over explosions or collision sounds.

@MassiveEffect - I sent you an email.

It's on the list.

Both... :P

I really would like to see the list. If it's so long he doesn't want to type it. He should buy a 56 Giga pixel camera and then image the whole list.
