random ideas which might be suitable for stuff like battleground or new years shenanigans

1. underwater bow fight (with fast water boots)
2. elytra/air combat 1v1 in a tournament style, if nothing happens for 5 minutes both players lose
3. landing on a 1 block pillar when elytra flying. this is actually pretty difficult, perhaps because i haven't tried it

i have an idea

build a 4x4 (or 5x5 or sth) area of zones of size 6x6 or so, build a pyramid on each with level ground and a 2 wide path between them and put a white flag on top. everyone gets knockback 2 swords (no other enchants) and starts wherever they choose. set a time limit of say, 10 minutes, and it's a free for all to change as many flags to your color as possible

alternatively maybe have 2 minute rounds or something where the first round is a ffa get as many flags as you can, then the succeeding rounds are 1v1 challenges between zones

i'm looking for someone to help me with redstone. offering up to 32 double chests of wood upon successful completion of the project if you manage to help substantially (as judged by me)

in particular, someone with expertise in observer based flying machines might be useful. a deep understanding of pistons and more traditional redstone will also be necessary

benchmarked the mob rate of my factory -- just over 1 mob / sec average

edit: i've since tuned the spigot/bukkit spawning settings to match vanilla, and i think the spawn rates have increased significantly since then, so this vid is out of date.

64 shulker boxes, which is the maximum a single player can carry alone, bar some strange loopholes

this screenshot really makes me appreciate modern technology. I grinded my ass off so hard for my first beacon compared to what is available on the server now. I think I got 12 witherskulls last week in half the time it took me to get 3 in 2013

This probably won't be familiar to anyone here, but this place was frozen in time for 4 years after 2013. This piece of Blacraft history was demolished and is the site for New Years 2018 (the chest, furnace and crafting table is even still there).

I found this along the nether horse road eastwards. It looks nice but whoever is building it should be careful with the design, ghasts may spawn. And please avoid building on the horse road itself.
