anybody wanna build a city with skyscrapers?
I found a really good location to do it on one of these maps. we'd basically be using all the resources of an island to create a city in the middle of water.
the plan would be something like...
- Build single-level tower base
- Dig a super-mine under it (probably 150x150) to bedrock
- Remove and store sand from surrounding areas
- Convert soil into a mix of farmland/cobblestone 'pavement'
- Build to the sky using mined materials and/or glass
- Repeat as necessary
was thinking it would be cool to have a land section and then a 'new venice' section with skyscrapers based in water and navigable by boat or walkways.
would be best to use glass because mobs can't spawn on glass. in the location in question, there's enough sand to make probably 40 skyscrapers.
