I know not everyone said yes to me making a blaze exp farm, and it's rude of me to build one without, especially Bla's, approval. But I am right now and I am almost ready to start doing the actual redstone part.

But anyways...

I was smelting some cobblestone to make pressure plates when I got attacked by a wither skeleton..killed it and got..

Edit: Kipz wanted me to wear it.

no you don't need bla's approval because the next time he's coming on is at the earliest like 2014

Well the blaze spawner is almost done, got some redstone wiring left to do. I fell off a huge cliff of lava and died. I swam to the surface and actually survived and dug a hole where I died (damn water not working in the nether, easily would have survived then). Rushed to my stuff, and made a lava bridge there, and within 20 seconds of me seeing my stuff and finishing the bridge, it despawned (again, another case of it despawning way too early, atleast for vanilla standards). So I'm done playing for tonight. Lost my good armour (fire protection 2+ on all pieces ironically), my best sword and my only silk touch pick, all of which will take forever to regain the enchantments on. Only really lost 30 diamonds of valuables though (if Bla would be so kind to replace <3).

Also I need 10 iron to finish the pistons, don't really feel like making the trip back to my land to get the iron and I drained all of the iron from Spawntown.

I did put the wither skull in a chest before I died. :P

btw if you fell in lava he's not gonna replace it, as it's not a glitch.

With Bla retired, bong scared and mudkipz ragequited..it's just me smjjames and stuffhappens. Lots have been getting done.

The basic blaze exp farm is done, the farm itself is done but I want to change the nearby area a bit and add enchanting tables and misc.

Died 8 times.
Resources used/lost:
-47 diamonds
-80 iron
-4 stacks of wood planks
-40 stacks cobblestone
-6 stacks of redstone

Costly but efficient. 30 levels should only take 15-20 minutes at the most efficient timing.

DIRECTIONS:
No road or signs there yet. Head to the spawntown nether fortress, you'll see a line of torches just past the nether fortress/amazonis base fork in the road. Follow that line of torches and take the nearest left in the open area of the fortress. (right after the line of torches ends).

during splunking trips what is your average iron/minute rate? I would guess around 10 iron/minute sounds right, taking into account the preperation time, travel time, splunk time, etc.

i also think if an iron golem is to be built it should be at least twice as fast as spelunking iron gathering, as spelunking also gives other ores and drops, and also experience, and the benefits of the farm should outweigh its costs. we'll assume killing with a nonlooting sword method, because then you can afk and collect drops. a single village of 16 villiagers will produce 1 iron /87.5 seconds with that method. If we want an iron every 3 seconds we need to build about 30 of these villiages. this works out to about 500+ entities loaded, not unreasonable at all.

Iron golems drop 3-5 iron. 16 villagers is the start total, they will breed.

If you really want, just give me some villagers and I'll do it myself. :P

Only problem is that there isn't neccesarily one single spot they spawn from. The golems that is.

yes yqt i took the number of iron dropped per golem into account. the number of villiagers isn't a problem, the amount of lag they might cause is.

I talked with our newest member this morning, (who has been here for a couple days), Rocksolid and gave him a warm welcome to Blacraft. He's made a settlement to the south of Kaeshar and Revoluta on the edge of the jungle at -890, 2140.

I also let him know that he can claim territory and that he should post his proposal on the forums so that Bla can put it on the map in the future and to let us know about the territory. I offered him some supplies, but he said he wanted to start from scratch (which is understandable since he is new to MC), which is fine, although I did drop off some carrots and potatoes at his place so that he can farm them if he chooses to and the only potatoes and carrots within 2km of Spawntown are in peoples farms.

With all of the new members and the risk of getting some land I want taken from me I decided that now is better than never.

But that isn't the point of this post. Recently, talk of the strongholds have re-emerged. Mine doesn't have an end portal, and likely won't for a while since Bla is done for now. Another one is under Quontex's territory and I'm not going there. The last one remains unclaimed though. I'd like to bring back Fiah's "Stronghold Marsh" idea.

It would be part of the UBSR, and if everyone is ok I'd like to control it. I'll ask all the regulars, and if the majority says no then I won't bother. If everyone says yes, I'll start searching for the stronghold soon.
