Interesting natural arch I found in a desert while looking for a desert temple. I initially thought it was a worldhole or unloaded chunk, but when I restarted that world, I saw that it was the real thing.

Looks like a high-tech, futurist version of Minecraft. Very interesting. But it looks like it costs monies.

"Notch plays TF2"

also that other game looks free... I have the updater for the client but it might be lulling me into a false sense of security before drowning me in 'buy now' buttons.

It says 3 USD here:
http://www.star-made.org/buy

But it also says "full version", so there's probably a trial/smaller version.

Nevertheless, despite a lack of belief in God, these individuals resented the term atheist, and still called themselves Christians, being content with remaining in the Church of Sweden. Other research has shown that religion in Sweden continues to play a role in cultural identity. This is evidenced by the fact that around 80 percent of adults continue to remain members of the Lutheran Church despite having to pay a church tax; moreover, rates of baptism remain high and church weddings are increasing in Sweden.

Yes, sadly people still seem to see christianity as a positive thing even though most people don't seem to actually believe in it here. I wouldn't call Sweden an atheist nation.
I think few people identify as atheist. Because people don't seem to know that it simply means not believing in gods. In elementary school when we were "taught" christianity (yes, christianity is actually a subject in school), people often said things like "atheists believe in nothing" and confuse atheism with not only antitheism but also antireligion.

It's really sad that the world is in such an ignorant and misinformed state.

People will go all ballistic about the "good messages of Jesus" and ignore all the bad parts of the Bible. It's really hypocritical and sad. The fact that people can consider themselves adherents to a religion because of something like this is like people calling themselves "Einsteinians" because they don't really accept Einstein's theories, and maybe some of the first things he said were a bit stupid, but they really like the message which he seems to try to get through in the last half of his work.

However, you could have attached this first bit when you copypasted from Wikipedia. :P

Despite a high formal membership rate in the Church of Sweden, some studies have found Sweden to be one of the least religious countries in the world, with one of the highest levels of atheism. According to different studies, between 46% and 85% of Swedes do not believe in God. In the Eurostat survey, 23% of Swedish citizens responded that "they believe there is a God", whereas 53% answered that "they believe there is some sort of spirit or life force" and 23% that "they do not believe there is any sort of spirit, God, or life force".

But I don't think it makes sense to call a nation "atheist" or "christian" unless the entire population really is atheist or christian. Which will never happen if you take any significantly big population.

In Denmark, if you're baptized, you automatically become a member of the church. I was baptized, sadly. I wanted to get out of it, but when I sent my request it took a long time before they responded. I even paid a tiny amount of money in church tax while waiting. It wasn't anything significant but it felt embarrasing to pay to such an evil institution.

Or you know, just create a nation and let atheists migrate there.

We need a nation for every general political idea in the world. And you get free transportation to where you want to be.

Cute story bro

http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/08/21/minecraft-experiment-devolves-into-devastating-resource-war/

Interesting, it almost resembles the real world in a way, except that the players were asked to compete rather than cooperate. But still.....

Although, one very important detail was omitted, how big was the enclosed area? A smaller area is going to run out of resources much faster than a larger area.

Edit: nvm, the forum post says 350x350 enclosed area, which might be too small for the experiment to work properly since things ran out extremely fast.

That's 21-22 chunks in each direction... Approx 10 million blocks of surface depending on average height. I still think it's interesting that they got it all down to bedrock (if they did). They must've used a lot of TNT. Or just not have had a life. Probably both.

I think this experiment could be made even more fun, if people used the chunk height mod which makes the chunks only 16 blocks tall....... That should make it much harder to hide and make much more conflict.
