Hey guys, some new stuff from the latest snapshot.

Boats will now pass through lilypads without breaking. (I can hear Kipz going WOOHOO! over this one)

Sandstone Stairs! http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Stairs (FINALLY! :) )

NPC Villages change style according to their biome. (Interesting.)

http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Pyramids (Cool. :) )

Those are the ones of note to me anyway. Bla has already posted about the Ender Chests.

There is a screenshot on the villages page of a desert village and IMO, the roofs really should be flat roofs.

@Bong: The exchange rates are subject to change, you know that.

Still though, maybe I could build a farm myself.....

If we're getting emerald coins, they're going to be really hard to mint because of the rarity of emeralds. So the only way to get them in quantity is trading. I hope that some sort of economy is added depending on what you trade and in what quantity. Also, gold, iron and diamond coins would be cool, like: 50 iron into 1 gold, 50 gold into 1 Emerald.

well in theory, great idea, in reality, bla will impose his communism over the whole of blacraft and all your dreams of 'economy' shall be crushed.

Now you mention it, it was probably semi-intentional.

Bla would like the ender chest. I was hoping it was per-person, not public. But, i like the mailbox idea. i guess ill just make an ender chest and steal ppl's stuff from it.

Also:
'except that their contents are shared across all other Ender Chests' <--- quote from wiki
what does that mean, like what does it look like if there are 3 chest in all?

I imagine all items in the 'pocket dimension' of ender chests are available from any ender chest in the world. It'd be good of instant delivery  to regions there's still the chance of it getting taken by someone mistaking the intended delivery as free supplies.

I don't think you can steal other people's items in an ender chest, as it only shows yours.

Unfortunately not:
Quote
Ender Chests have an intended drawback: The contents are not player-specific on SMP. All chests share the same contents and can be accessed by anyone[2].

Well that's only good Imo, we also have pretty much common ownership anyway on Blacraft, and that makes it possible to instantly transport things compared to if each person had seperate ender chest contents.

As for coins, stupid system. Let's just share our stuff and give people what they need and have fun and help each other and stuff. :P
I don't really see how they would make any sense when we have common ownership.

Still, its not going to completely obsolete cargo routes. As I said earlier, they'd still be useful for more local purpouses like shuttling material locally rather than to and from Spawntown, or possibly large amounts of material to and from Spawntown.

Making some sort of fortress. Possibly a dorf fortress. This one shows how it looks from the front (5% complete). Yes most of the terrain is natural, from an epic seed.

I don't think tripwires were ever in previous MC updates. And it's possibly coming this Thursday.

They weren't, but back in the day, redstone would deconstruct if you walked on it, so it could be used as a tripwire.

Hey guys, the weekly snapshot is out and enchanting has been rebalanced, heres the list:

Enchantment system has been rebalanced

A full enchantment table set with bookshelves doesn't go up to 50, only up to 30.
With a full enchantment table set with bookshelves, at the bottom of the 3 enchantments, it always shows you the highest number possible
Using level 30 enchantments you have a lot more luck; almost all items get at least 2 enchantments
Various actions will now reward you with experience orbs, such as mining ores (except gold and iron) and using furnaces

Theres also Jungle Temples (not exactly Indiana Jones though, but close) and a few new environmental effects involving rain
