we have lavaforge, buckets aren't stolen

and i think mining will still be the main source of iron.

It'll still be a major supplement, depends on how rare the drop is though.

As for the buckets, I know we have lavaforge (hence the 'normally').

The jungles coming up in 1.2 sound pretty cool, any idea if we'll be able to get them in our server without having to crop the inhabited areas and transplant to a new map (which is pretty much how we got to this map from the last one, I THINK..... thats what it sounded like anyways when I read the whole thread).

Well whether it becomes a major supplement depends entirely on the drop rate, so we don't know that yet. :P I doubt it'll become a major supllement, considering the zombie pigmen and their gold. But then again, we could make automatic mob farms which could harvest the iron.
The mob farm in Spawntown will very likely be completely outdated and useless with the new mob AI, but that shouldn't be too hard to test.

If you update to version 1.2, all new chunks will have the new terrain. The only reason I crop it is to get more of the new terrain closer to our current settlements. There's no reason to transplant the cropped map to another one though, I've never done that.
But yes, we will get jungles after 1.2.

conceptual building....if i were to build it, the frame would take around 3000 blocks while the interior floors, assuming 4 block high spaces and 1 block thick floors, would take 2000 blocks.

You know, hydroelectric power?

We'd also need to have other mechanics related deviced such as axles and we already have the redstone circuit system, so I doubt we'll be seeing anything like that anytime soon.

I believe there is a way to make flowing water generate current on redstone wire... Not sure though.

I've read about Block Update Detectors (or BUDs) on the minecraft wiki, the presence or absence of water could do it.

Cactus farm that generates cactus constantly. Cactus is fed down into a 1x1 pipe. If water, then cactus flow to pressure plate which turns on current. Dropchest near by with ./cmagnet on, if water off, cactus stop flow, no current.

Do you need to be an op to use a command like that? I'm just wondering where a list of commands like that and what's used to lock chests and doors with a 'magic spell', I can't find any such command on the wiki and google search isn't much help.

Minecraft 2 Trailer

Any idea when that will be out for pc?

Having a volcano in the pc version of minecraft would be awesome. Hell, just having one in blacraft would be awesome too.

As aesome as that would be, I'm not sure even consoles could support such fluid physics like smoke. Lava, and other fluids, possibly.

Realistic fake volcano then.

@matty: the graphics alone would be pushing the envelope.

Maybe it's the mod Wedge (which allows you to edit terrain generation)?
