After solving
this annoying problem, I went out to find some wolves to tame.
After walking for many meters, I almost fell down into a very deep hole.
But only almost. It looked so exciting that I couldn't resist exploring it. And then, I fell down, lost 9½ hearts and got shot by a skeleton at the bottom.
After respawning, I went the same way as earlier and found the hole. I managed to dirt my way down and jumping some of the way. I did not like the cactus at the bottom of the hole, though, which made wierd hissing sounds, but eventually broke into some greyish powder after many hits.
Just as I got my stuffz back, I noticed the light level dropping. The sky was getting dark.
So I explored some of the mine, and close to the original hole, there was another hole, which may have extended even deeper.
About midnight, I had almost reached the surface level again.
A couple of creepers were trying to follow me, though, but their pathing algorithms didn't make them a big threat.
At last, I reached the surface, went into the water and fought off zome zomebies before the sun rose. I explored some more, and at last I found my first wolf. Whee.
I found another one not very far from it. The rest of the day was spent getting home, almost. I found this nice looking landscape just before the moon went up.
I found a third wolf during the night, but I got into a fight, and a creeper killed two of the wolves I had tamed. So I ended up having one wolf, and built a small farm for it in my original shaft mine.
