Hitting Transmitting?

I was playing Universe Sandbox the other day, and as i made a asteroid with a path to earth, i shot another ''Nuke'' to it, to change his direction. but nothing happend.

It would be more awesome if a big/small sized object hitted another big/small object and it would spin faster, it would spin the way the asteroid hitted it, and his path would change.

I don't think Universe Sandbox thakes into account objects hitting objects to change the direction.  :l

It used to.

Plus, think about this. If you really hit an asteroid with a 2,000 pound object... a 40000000000000 pound object won't move.

It used to.

Techincally, it will move a few atoms.

But, all 1017 or however many are all moving unless it is 0 Kelvin.

I haven't changed any of the code that would effect this.

Currently only Bounce Mode, not Combine mode will affect the rotation of a body. However, both modes will effect the direction of collided bodies.

Techincally, it will move a few atoms.

That's basically true. The effect of a small body on a large one is going to be minimal and perhaps unnoticeable.

Try making the mass of the smaller body (the 'Nuke') much larger to see the effect.

Or try this:
- Open Earth & Moon
- Launch moons at the Earth (press F on your keyboard)
- Notice how little the Earth moves, but that it does move.
