numbers don't exist in this universe, they do in a sense exist though, but not in any way that it's coherent to talk about physics acting on numbers, 2 doesn't become 3 near a black hole because it doesn't have any properties other than being a mathematical object
like you can talk about a space being 2 dimensional or 3 dimensional, and that's coherent, but if at the first instant after the universe began it was 2 dimensional and shortly after became 3 dimensional, for example, that doesn't mean that 2 became 3, it means that a property of the universe changed.
The way this thread exists is that it exists on computer screens which consist of pixels which consist of three tiny lights of red, blue, and green, which consist of excited atoms; as bits in one or two different servers as well as computers which are flipped transistors consisting of atoms; and as visual experiences in consciousness which are ????, which are all in this universe. None of these are numerical, even though I used several different numbers in this paragraph, namely "1", "2", and "3". They are patterns of pixels which enter your consciousness and only then become numbers through the magic of consciousness. However the numbers as themselves aren't dependent on anyone's consciousness or any position or time in the universe to exist, and will always be what they are.
