Shouldn't you include some more alternatives to Science? I mean, what about the Nordic mythology:
Heat from Niflheim and cold from... Somewhere else meets, and creates the jötunn Ymer. From Ymer's dead body, all the forests and everything is created. :)
And I really think you should include the Flying Spaghetti Monster too. :)

But I think your book concept looks interesting, and it's up to you to include more alternatives. I just think it looks like a fight between evolution and Christian creationism/intelligent design disguise too often, where if there's something Science can't explain or the explanation isn't known or understood by the people discussing it, the answer from religion automatically becomes true, when in fact every single answer Science hasn't known earlier has always been answered naturally, rejecting the supernatural answer. :)

And guess what? Guess what nearly happened to my outline (yes, I wrote it on paper)? So I showed this kid my outline. And when I said a specific section is about atheism, he almost ripped my paper. OMG, SERIOUSLY? What is his problem?

Haha. In what state do you live? Don't tell it if you don't want to. But if you live in The Bible Belt, you should expect that people will be very hostile towards atheists. I don't know if you've told people you're an atheist (assuming you still are).

I'm so happy that I live in Europe, where I live more than 80% are atheists. :P

Actually, I'm agnostic...I finally found the term that fits me. Before I didn't know what being agnostic was, and now I do, and the definition of agnostic fit me...but...nvm.

Hmmm, I can't really decide between atheism and being agnostic. I'm stuck.

Okay, it seems like that's roughly outside The Bible Belt. From Wikipedia, I'd assume Arizona is probably average on the religious scale in USA.

How are you about your atheism publicly (assuming you're still an atheist)?

Oh, I did tell people. I had to.

But now I'm umm...agnostic(?)

The point is that the kid who wanted to tear up your paper just because it mentioned atheism (and not what the book has to actually say about it) was probably brought up by fundies, who taught him how atheism  and evolution are evil and the work of the devil.

Agnostics can be either theists or atheists. You can be an agnostic atheist, who doesn't believe in gods but doesn't claim that there is(/are) no god(s) (most atheists don't claim that, they just think it's extremely unlikely that there are gods).
If you're a theist, you can also be agnostic, by believing in god(s) but not being sure that the god exists.

The opposite of being agnostic is being gnostic, claiming to know whether there is no god or if there is a god/are gods.

Oh okay, I'm an agnostic atheist. Yeah it fits me.

No. Wait, no. I don't believe in gods, but I say there is no proof to get-WAIT A SECOND!!!!!!!!! No proof? I usually say proof like this:
Who created god? If something created god, who created the creator of god? If that continues, there will be infinite mass (yes ghosts have mass).

*confused* Help me. I can't decide my beliefs!!!

That makes me an agnostic atheist as well. It would be arrogant to claim certainty that there is no god of any sort.
However, when it comes to the blatant absurdity that is christianity, I'm quite certain it can't possibly be true, so I'm an atheist when it comes to that particular load of tripe ;)

Yes, we're all "atheists" to most religions, we atheists just go one god further. :P

No. Wait, no. I don't believe in gods, but I say there is no proof to get-WAIT A SECOND!!!!!!!!! No proof? I usually say proof like this:
Who created god? If something created god, who created the creator of god? If that continues, there will be infinite mass (yes ghosts have mass).
Hmm, the mass is irrelevant here I think. But yes, if everything requires a creator, and the creator does as well, it would just leave an infinite row of creators, which would be absurd in itself.
The universe obviously doesn't need a creator if you think about it, so to me putting a creator on the line is just un-needed and doesn't get us any further.

*confused* Help me. I can't decide my beliefs!!!
You don't have to decide your beliefs. You should wait and let the reason and evidence count, and believe what feels most logical. :)

Oh, and I'm also an agnostic atheist. I just feel that 'agnostic' is really irrelevant to the word - I'm also an ateapotist, I don't believe a teapot is orbiting Mars, but I don't feel any need to label that I'm not completely sure that there isn't.

Well, I didn't believe in god my whole life. So basically, I am an atheist at heart....

HAHAAHAHAHAHA!!!! Ateapotist? LOL HAHAHAHA.

No offence, that's just a funny word. Sorry, don't take that as mean.

I'm a complete atheist when it comes to any existing religions, but I'm agnostic in the sense that it can't be ruled out that there is some sort of god. If there is, it'll be completely beyond what we can imagine or comprehend.
I'm completely certain that even it there was a god, it wouldn't be interested in the slightest about what we insignificant humans do on our insignificant planet in our insignificant galaxy.

Yes, believing in such a god, that just created everything and didn't care about it's creation would be called deism. I also think the gods from all religions are completely absurd. Even if there was a god, a holy book would prove it as little as a Star Wars book would prove the existence of Darth Vader. :P

No problem, it was meant to be a little bit funny too, even though I think Richard Dawkins made the word. It's just an analogy, I guess everyone are ateapotists in this example. :)
