January 8, 2016. Alpha 18.2. What's holding you guys up?

Yeah I know alpha 19 previews have been released in the meantime but I was wondering what was keeping you guys up so long for the alpha 19 release. Is it a major difference from the preview? I saw all the great changes in the preview and I love this sandbox. Best ever. I was wondering what major problems were holding you guys up becauase I haven't seen any updates about Alpha 19 recently.

A lot of the delay is fixing bugs. While working on the Roche limit effects and other effects, some bugs were found and fixing those bugs led to other bugs. It is taking much longer than they were expecting.I think that the 19 release will be very different from the 19 preview.

Mostly like im4space said... one feature being added, having complexities, getting done, requiring other supporting features which also require yet other things. Sure, we could have released this some time ago, but rather than add new features, which work poorly, we wanted to make it a bit more polished before releasing.


I do believe, we have said as much on the fora during the wait, but perhaps not clearly enough.
