Why are magnetospheres ellipsoidal and not toral?

Magnetospheres in US2 aren't shaped like IRL magnetic fields.

This is true. Also, I dont quite understand the mechanics behind them

They are still probably trying to implement the feature. Just give it time I guess.

Solar winds don't  change the mechanics of a magnet

WHAT?  You managed to create a spher(et)ical magfield?

As Spartan said,

Guys... Solar Winds... heeeloo?

But more formally, the solar wind distorts the magnetic field to form that ovoid shape.  I haven't managed to create a spher(et)ical field yet, it only seems to work when a star is in the sim, but then it isn't spher(et)ical...

Whoops, caught me on that one. I meant to say Ellipsoidal. Creating a Spherical magfield requires 0 Solar Wind, and that would cause magfield rendering to turn off.

They dont but they do change the shape of the magnetic field. IRL, Earth's magnetic field is shaped like a teardrop, with the "tail" pointing away from the sun because of solar winds.

It would be nice if the magnetic field show lines instead of a bubble...

Also, what is a tesla measurement?
