Nice! If you got into GIMP, you could touch it up a lot to make it look really realistic. Add layers on top and use brushes to add surface detail and color variation, deepen the blue of the water, and add a cloud layer. Not necessary, just encouragement.

How do you upload them onto a planet??? Every time I save it in the skins folder and try to upload it like the default skins and it doesn't work. I have the steam version... I bet that has something to o with it.

I think you have to convert the File to .png format.

Then select the Name of the File in the Texture Box - Type in the Name.

I think you have to use a Graphics Program which will let you Save the File in .png Format.

Microsoft's Paint program (comes with every Windows PC) can do this. Simply open the image you want to convert in MS Paint (Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Paint, then open your file in Paint) and choose File -> Save As and save the file as a PNG.

I did everything, and the colored texture I used does not work on an already existing object. I have put an image with the texture.
Nevermind- I did it! I needed to create a new sim.
Erf- now It doesn't work on another planet.

This program has a bit of a learning curve to get good results, but it's pretty much only limited by the power of your computer. I've barely been able to generate 12288x6144 pixel maps with 4GB of RAM and 2GB of VRAM. I like it because it has good erosion features.
