Linux Troubleshooting
« on: January 29, 2015, 03:43:31 PM »
Due to variances in Linux distros there are a few common problems that users have run into. We officially support the same distributions as the Unity Engine, which is Ubuntu 12.04 +. Other distributions can and will work, but it can require a bit of configuration and tinkering.

Log Files | Linux
Typically located here:
~/.config/unity3d/Giant Army/Universe Sandbox ²/Player.log

General Startup Issues

If Universe Sandbox ² is crashing on startup, please run through our basic troubleshooting guide first:

Problem : Steam Related issues

We use Steam as a distribution platform for downloading and running the game. There's a few common issues on Linux with Steam itself.

Here are some guides for installation and support of Steam on Linux

Specific to Arch Linux, but applies to distributions that are similar.

Game works flawlessly (mostly) on Mint Linux 17.1 (Rebecca) and Mint Linux 17.3 (Rosa).  Also works well on Elementary OS Luna (0.2).

The first two are based on Ubuntu 14.04 LTE and the last on Ubuntu 12.04 LTE.

May try it on CentOS 7 at some point.  If it works, will post results.
