halving the distance to the next revision because he's not happy with it being a new full revision

you know like zeno's paradox and version numbering being like 0.38.2 for things

Auspikitan - the major power of Amalthea, has the highest population of any country on the Amalthean subcontinent, center of the Auspik ethnolinguistic group
Solea - the cultural center of Amalthea, the origin of the kapuna script which most Amalthean languages use to write (though several have their own variants), the center of the Soleani/North Amalthean ethnolinguistic group
Laewa - snowy land of arctic peoples and the Teqaewa, pretty much the only nation which is of the Teqaewa ethnolinguistic group
Dtersauuw - probably an ethnolinguistic isolate country, maybe even related to some sentient cat humanoids hmmm idk they might be aliens
Enapi - an island nation heavily influenced by Olea (zenapi is the soleani word for "island")
Kateŋkwei - isolated island nation in the north Uqe Ocean of people probably originating from Laewa and Solea
Tepodi - matriarchical nation of things idk, North Amalthean culture
Eksola - North Amalthean culture
Pq'alik - mountainous nation, North Amalthean
Aovensiiv - Auspik culture
Eqkirium - Auspik culture, probably got independence from Auspikitan relatively recently, so highly influenced
Aitessek - Auspik culture
Ukahi - "between lakes" in Ukahani, North Amalthean, doubly landlocked, this land may have been entirely underwater a few tens of thousands of years ago
Éxa - pronounced /ɛː!a/, an Amalthean microstate high in the Tátláhnták, sitting on a lakeshore, has a population of a few thousand people and consists of only a few conglomerated villages, doubly landlocked
Kakai - Auspik culture
Apsea'ŋ - Auspik culture
Futi'akep - Auspik culture
Oesa - Auspik culture, based on the largest island in the Serkr Archipelago, Kap'a
Pwaka - Auspik culture
Atapwa - Auspik culture
Hinaika - Auspik culture
Aegakwet - Auspik culture

Amalthea - our great land :) ("annallutzi" in Soleani)
kalassak calls it /æmɨlθiə/, but if you want to pronounce it other ways i guess i can't stop you
kahe olípeka - /'kaxɛ ɤ'liːpɛka/ the Soleani name for the largest arctic lake, situated in western Laewa
zevák lókehpíkek - /sɛvaːk 'lɤːkɛpiːkɛk/ or the Lókehpíkek Mountains, the mountain range that runs from Laewa, through Solea, and down into the basin in Eastern Amalthea
vetukętǎkÅ¡e - /fɛt̪u'kɛt̪aʶkɬɛ/ "geyser pass" in Soleani, Solea's crown jewel, situated in and around a caldera blasted out of the lókehpíkek sometime in the last million years, is a national park and landmark that reminds one of Earth's Yellowstone and Yosemite combined into one... nearly 1000 geysers and other geothermal features are active here
tátláhnták - /t̪aːt̪l̪aːxn̩t̪aːk/ a basin and stuff with mountains, but it's wetter than the Great Basin, so it has lots of lakes

i guess i'll start setting up the process for making amalthean nations in the kareŋ region and stuff

oh and also, dar can suggest places for ganuo-influenced cities and city-states on the west coast of Auspikitan (and maybe some other places idk)

(Note: this file is not merged with the last two revisions)

maybe make a table of language origins, cultures, and scripts

The Dash for Amalthea Kareŋ

The Kareŋ region of Amalthea. Solea is located to the east, Laewa is to the north.

Have you ever wanted to have your very own mostly peaceful socialist nation in the Amalthean wilderness? Well now you can! Apply now! Options vary between regionally-influential civilized state and backwater tribal microstate. Get yours today before it's all gone!

The northern border of the region is negotiable (west of the Lókehpíkek), mostly because I don't like how it looks and we don't know the elevation.

Click here to apply for an Amalthean state in the unorganized Kareŋ region!

a list of things we'll need for pavala probably, i think this stuff can be made at ~10km resolution and it will be fine, we can interpolate the data with scripts to fit the grid properly

XLAND - LAND MASK (1 FOR LAND, 2 FOR WATER)
LANDMASK - LAND MASK (1 FOR LAND, 0 FOR WATER)
LU_INDEX - LAND USE CATEGORY
IVGTYP - DOMINANT VEGETATION CATEGORY
ISLTYP - DOMINANT SOIL CATEGORY
HGT - Terrain Height
VEGFRA - VEGETATION FRACTION
ALBBCK - BACKGROUND ALBEDO
SHDMAX - ANNUAL MAX VEG FRACTION
SHDMIN - ANNUAL MIN VEG FRACTION
SNOALB - ANNUAL MAX SNOW ALBEDO IN FRACTION
TMN - SOIL TEMPERATURE AT LOWER BOUNDARY

why are there two land masks? i don't know

the land use/veg/soil category things have keys which i can post later when needed, there's like 16 and 14 for vegetation and soil respectively, i believe

there might be some other things to set but i'm not sure, like SLPX and SLPY (slopes at each grid point i guess? i don't know if they are necessary, but not too hard to calculate)

I think that since this animal is two legged, it should run slightly slower than a horse and should carry slightly less than one too (unless if it has super thicc blastopecs)

he's right but it'll be more a south-shifted rain shadow along the coast and the coast only
