Communism isn't always good.
Kol, that cartoon is like a famous quote by Winston Churchill.
"The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings. The inherent virtue of Socialism is the equal sharing of miseries." 1945
However he makes a flawed comparison by saying everyone is equal, but merely equally poor. In fact, many socialist countries had very high growth rates - higher than USA during the same period - from the 1930s to the 1970s (not counting World War 2 for obvious reasons). Clearly socialism is capable of providing growth that over time makes people less poor.
However, the countries that became socialist,
were significantly poorer than the west to begin with, and World War 2 also did enormous damage to the infrastructure in Eastern Europe vs the western part, plus USA's marshall plan helping the west. Those are the reasons why western Europe was significantly richer than Eastern Europe - and what made the quote popular after the war - not socialism.
One could ask where the 'blessings' of capitalism are in the Sierra Leone, etc... there's certainly more poverty than there was in socialist countries but I doubt capitalists would admit that it's the result of capitalism failing...
