I had Arcturus circling around Polaris, and then shot Earth, Neptune, Jupitar, and the Sun at Polaris. Suddenly, Polaris split into 2 tiiny fragments and everything flew off.

The Star and gas giant collisions have some problems. We'll be working on improving them in the coming updates. It's quite possible you can have impact right now that will fragment a Sun completely...
