What does the "O" button do?

So I was trying to create a badass solar system and trying to take a screenshot via the game. I didn't know what button to click, so I started experimenting. I clicked the "O" button and it did this to the parent gas giant the moon I was on was orbiting:

I just replicated this, kind of

Pressing the letter O seems to drop in objects near the object you are near...pulling away from the main object and press O it just continues to drop unnamed objects into the simulation
