I've got a great idea for a sci fi horror game called Endless Night.
You are basically a stranded explorer on a planet with a very long day-night cycle (about 53 hours per rotation) and you are trying to build a shelter from the sun (the planet orbits a very hot star, so all the animals/plants are nocturnal and "hibernate" during the day)
The game would have a very similar feel to the game "The Forest" but with a new and exciting bioluminescent environment to explore. There is no sentient species, and it is, even at night, rare to see a larger animal, giving the game a "Slender" atmosphere to it, making the sighting of the (very scary) animals a shock. Most animals run away, but occasionally you'd encounter a hostile predator seeking nourishment.
The game would have factors such as thirst, hunger, comfort (hot or cold), wellness (sickness, injuries), which can be restored by either hunting and cooking the wildlife and by using certain flowers as medicine, or by scavenging the scattered spacecraft wreck pieces, which may or may not contain what you are needing.
The map will also contain many easter eggs, which are either refrences, scary even by the game's standards, or just natrual oddities.
In addition, the map is randomly generated, keeping the game fresh.
The main idea of the game is not eactly to be a thriller (ooh, Michael Jackson refrences!), but to be more of an open-world exploration game. There are no real objectives (except for survival, of course) and no ending, unless you eventually decide to commit suicide by going out into the sun at daytime.
Unfortunately, I am pretty young, so I have no real experience with creating a beutiful game design and graphics, especially not in 3D. I would most likely expect this to be created in Unity.
Let me guys know what you think, and if you've got any suggestions/question, shoot!
