I've been playing kerbal space program and space engine to pass the time.

Same here mainly, i've been trying to look for habitable planets for humanity but i havent got any results yet in space engine.

I think this will help pass the time for all you inpatient people. I suggest looking at all of their videos on YouTube, and no its not Space Engine, its much better than that.

Infinity: Quest for Earth?

This won't beat NMS anyway, though.
Meh, I find it harder to compare Infinity to NMS than to Elite Dangerous. From the looks of it NMS is more cartoonish with unrealistic scale (Which I don't have a problem with) and is leaning towards Exploration and Discovery but I'm probably going to buy both + ED + SC + US2. Ugh I'm going to go broke by the end of the year.

Infinity QFE is as cartoonish/unrealistic as NMS. Artificial gravity, downward based space stations, etc., but NMS seems to be more open world and has better art in my opinion. Sure, it has a similar design to spore, but it still looks bloody terrific.

You suck at looking for planets. I've found dozens.

i don't suck at finding them, i suck at finding them at the right temp/gravity/atmosphereic pressure, all the ones i find are way too hot or too cold and never in the middle.

The collisions are like *pop*, and no atmosphere.

the timescale you run at collision don't allow you to see the stripping of the atmosphere. If you run the collision really slowly I think you can see some kind of gradual stripping effect.

No, you can't. Universe Sandbox 1 does not simulate atmospheric mass seperately from solid mass, let alone with the kind of discreteness needed to do atmospheric stripping.

I don't understand. I heard this was universe sandbox 3 alpha. I though Universe Sandbox 1 was the 2009 version, and universe sandbox 2 was the current version.

Yeah, we were not talking about US2 at all, just US1.
