You'll be able to buy the alpha version before the end of 2014. I can't be anymore specific than that.

Why do people keep asking this question ?
When Half Life 2 was released does everyone with Half Life 1 said "If I have HL1 can I have the 2 for free ?"

this is because dan said before that we coul have ubox 2 for free but we can't, so people are kind of confused

To be fair... I think some people are asking that question without knowledge of that plan from 2012 (that hasn't been true since November of 2012). Most people in the world have no idea.

When I made that promise, the vision for the sequel was no where near what it has become today.
