Diachronic Stuff
The retroflexes (ʈ ɖ ʈʂ ʐ) comes from alveolars combining with /r/, meaning that they only occur intervocalically (that is, between vowels). The Darvincian lone click /!/ and Soleani /|/ both have an origin in *kt, which could only occur in the onset of the syllable. All the labials also merged into /b/. Like Soleani, the aspirated stops can only occur at the end of a word. And ɲ is rather rare. /h/ corresponds with Soleani /ʔʰ/
