Nice, so you decided to go with the French flag and the Vermont (I think, one of the New England states anyway) seal?

The tree is from the colonial time New England Flag.

The motto, "In Aeternum Res Novae", is the motto of Aeridani. The bottom three words are the founding states of Aeridani (SUA).

Some states do have a pine tree of some form or another in their flag. Anyways, yeah, I remembered that specific tree insignia as being from one of the New England states, but I couldn't quite place it and was too lazy at that moment to look.
