Because it was a response to the fact that it was optional.
It's like being asked after you install the plugin whether you want to enable it or not. I don't want to enable its core feature, so I see no reason to install it in the first place.

hi this is a prototype for a mob factory which uses flushing platforms through funny water tubings.
each platform has 64 area, each half platform has 36, a floor will have 4 full and 2 half platforms = 328 area
33 floors 10824 spawning space. 6 pistons. 1 minute and 6 seconds to fill with water. pistons cover water for 2 minutes, let water flow for 30 sec. repeat or adjust as necessary.

the building is 44x13; i think i'll start konstruction after wall kompletd.

I think it's 20x30.

The tubing, why would it take forever? I can't see the way it's designed, but I imagine it being fairly simple and repetitive.

well the "tubing" there is just really 1 unit, connecting 1 more platform.
I have about 200 of those to make. It is repetative, but i imagine the portion above ground and if i hit a cave or lava pool to be...differerent.

also exciting because that means i can the platforms lit up until i'm finished at which point i'll just wash them down.
and i can easily fix the mob trap if anything goes wrong by turning on le water currents.

Although i have no idea where a grinder would work..a row of water currents on the bottom floor leading to a 2 wide stream of water than pistons?

i'm not a fan of digging huge quarries

and i think i'd be cool to downscale this to a single column of 33 platforms; 1/5 the area. a mini mob factory that you can build in a day

Also you build your platforms from down up. is there any specific reason you didn't just carve the platforms out of the stone?

Because it made it easier to blan everything when the whole interior had been carved out first. I think it would become a mess otherwise.

Each person only has 45 cubic meters of living space not accounting for any of the furniture/items.

Includes 4 beds, 4 wheat farm slots, 4 melon stem and melon slots, 1 crafting table with 10 bookshelves, 6 brewing stands, 20 furnaces, 4 large chests, 4 private small chests, 4 doors, 8 torches, 1 window, a mine entrance, and 4 crafting tables.

i don't think that'll be able to sustain a party of 4 doing intensive activities.

and there are no pumpkins. The wheat is because there was only 1 space, not enough to grow melons.
