[FIXED] screen locks up and freezes on launch after changing resolution in-game

So I was playing US2 on mac when I clicked on a different resolution setting (can't remember which one it was) while in fullscreen then the screen goes black and freezes and shows a weird grey shape on the screen.

So I force quitted the game and tried to boot it up again and still had the weird shape and freezing launch screen.
Then I searched up how to reset the window resolution to default by using the launch options button and typing in [-autoconfig] which did nothing. I also unchecked the cloud sync in the steam preferences and still not working

then I tried deleting the game folder and reinstalling steam and still no luck.
please help switching game versions and trying to set my game back to default doesn't work

You were on the right track with the launch options.
Use [-safemode] to start it and it will reset all settings.

I tried that and its the same thing :(

im not even sure if the launch options work because I tried it on another game and it doesn't work on the game

crap I just had to wait for the game to load while that weird shape was there instead of the loading screen
