The Color in Space | Update 24.1 of Universe Sandbox is now available!

This update lets you customize colors for just about every object: add dozens of bands to gas giants, turn Earth’s atmosphere red, or color your alien star purple. Plus: docking graphs, better black hole visuals, and many other improvements and fixes. There’s also …a sword?

Please add color options for stars. It would be great for users to create custom stars with custom colors. Many users requested before on how to make green or purple stars. Custom colors would give unlimited customization for stars. Galaxies also need color options too. Solar flares must have color options as well. Black holes would look great with custom colors. Human objects is another type of objects that needs color options as well.

Please add all the missing color options in a future update.

its in the appearance tab:
Select the star, click on Appearance and set it to Custom

Ah, that's great.

Can I use any custom color to change the color of stars and solar flares?

Yes for the first bit, i'm not sure for the second bit. I'd assume the flare would take on the custom color you set for the star, but can never be certain.

I think that solar flares can be customized along with the star's color.

well thats weird, the star i tested it on didnt change the flare
if you mean the star glow then yea, but the effect of the flare didnt change for me

The flare should change its color as well when you modify the star's color. If the flare does not change color, then you need to report it to the developers on this forum and Discord to let them know about it.

Just yesterday, a tiny update has been released as a small second part addition to the color update. It adds three new human objects. Take a closer look at the update on this video.
