Hello and welcome to the nineteenth edition of the Univision Song Contest! The contest returns to Solea for the third time thanks to Kim Petras' win in Aeridani four months ago with her song Close Your Eyes. This edition will be hosted in the mountainous region of Solea known as the Lokéhpíkek in the quaint city of Naktona - noted birthplace of Auya. We invite you to howl at the moon and become what you were always meant to be as we listen to Kim Petras and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark while we wait for all the participants from your countries that will compete here in Naktona!

whoops i totally forgot since i was writing that post when my dad was up and he was telling me i needed to sleep so i was rushing
I would like you guys to submit to me, along with your songs, a short video clip (at least 30 seconds in length, but not much longer, since I don't need that much) of natural or city or landscape aesthetic or really just anything artistic or creative which represents your local environment and your fictional country. Be creative, think within those constraints, what do you have around you in easy access that you could take a video that could have been recorded in your country as well? Because these clips will be used before each of your songs during the synchtube, I will also accept 3 different video clips, at least 10 seconds long, but again, it doesn't need to be much longer than that.
These clips will be used in short videos introducing your song during the synchtube which will display your country's flag, name, artist, and song title. I will edit that in, so you don't need to worry about putting that in your video. If you are submitting multiple clips and have a preference for which video goes with which song, I can make accommodations for that.
Restrictions:
- it must have been recorded on or after June 4, 2019
- it must be real video of reality, not a video game or anything
- you must have recorded it
- i would prefer if it wasn't a video of you doing something (if you can think of something cool and artistic that involves a video of yourself, run it by me, you might be able to do it), but if people happen to be in the video that's not an issue
- it can be recorded with your phone
- it must be in landscape, not portrait, you degenerate
if you cannot supply a video i will supply one for you

kazagha! and welcome to this record breaking edition of the Univision Song Contest where we will see 45 songs perform over the next few weeks! The last time we saw over 40 entries in the contest was in the fourth edition. As a result of the enormous interest in the contest this edition, this will be the first edition of the Univision Song Contest to feature a semifinal system, so some explanation is necessary:
Each country has been drawn into one semifinal such that participants are only required to vote in the semifinal which contains their entries. If participants wish, they may (and they are encouraged to) vote in both semifinals. All votes will count equally toward the total which will determine which songs make it out of the semifinal. The top ten scoring songs from each semifinal will qualify to the final to compete for the grand prize... the Univision trophy! Additionally, countries that do not have a song which scores in the top ten within their respective semifinal will automatically have their highest scoring song qualify to the final as well. This means that somewhere from ten to thirteen songs will make it from each semifinal to the final. From there, the final operates as Univision normally has in the past.

the consolation qualifiers were nova chrysalia and jorster island (11th and 12th in semi 2) and omnipotencia and ethanthova (14th and 17th in semi 1)
so aiyota and bielosia both had one top 10 qualifier (2nd and 10th in their semis, respectively)
additionally if you assign an "estimated position" based on two times the placing in the semifinal the songs that made the biggest gains in the final were we appreciate power (+15 places) and troll (+8 places), the biggest losers on the other hand were nimfomanka (-13 places) and blackout (-10 places)
semi 1 averaged 44.9 points in the final
semi 2 averaged 31.8 points

I wish swonx's song won tbh, one of the best univision entries in a long time imo.
With that being said, congrats yqt for winning this edition. It has been a while lol :P
Also, dar did come off pretty bluntly with his statement. I'm not gonna argue whether or not he should've done that but I don't think it's a good idea to say something to try to provoke another person. That's just stepping into bad territory with the other person.
