Hi, as you may know I have not been on the forums recently. This is because my computer caught a virus. It deleted a lot of files on my computer... including Universe sandbox. all my textures, screenshots and simulations were deleted even the program itself so I might not be able to play anymore. >:(

Have you managed to remove it?
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good antivirus program imo, and it's free.

Thanks but the computer isn't letting anything install.

Then, if you don't have antivirus already, you are screwed. You may have to get another computer.

You should upload the rest of your important files to something like Dropbox or back them up if you have an external hard drive... And try to get support so it can be removed without/before it getting worse.
If you haven't already.

I already had anti-virus but it was able to get past it, I can't remember what was it called though.

Was it regularily updated?
You should also get an anti-spyware program because they can catch things that the antivirus doesn't detect or clean up properly.

can you do a system restore? those are very handy. It reverts your computer's state to a time before you 'caught' the virus

Especially if its a rootkit and it has dug itself in too deeply for the antivirus to root out. Happened to me once with AVG and a rollback fixed things.

yeah i used to do that but now viruses simply chew up your hard-drive. Must feed them more brocolli

When I caught a virus on my computer, it basically slowed it down, a lot. The only way I fixed was to restore the computer back to factory settings.
