Title: First images of the nucleus of comet Hartley 2 by Deep Impact

And the probe Deep Impact reach the comet Hartley 2.

It is interesting to note how the Hartley 2 has a "texture" that resembles the surface of asteroid Itokawa:

The today APOD is about the encounter:

The strange texture os Hartley 2 are cited and is propose that like some asteroids maybe Hartley 2 are a "rubble-pie" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rubble_pile) comet ( if it is so, it´s the first one detected ).

A think that a rubble pie comet not be very old in inner solar system cause your tendencie to fragmenting are high !

It looks grainy from that distance.
