When an update is released it is first only available to those that have an option check in the Options panel.
(this has nothing to do with being a former beta tester, anyone can do this)
1 - Click on the "Options" link from the main menu
2 - And check "Download Beta Versions"
(only check this if you're willing to get updates that sometimes don't work)
Now when Universe Sandbox checks for updates it will get the release candidate version if it's available.
This is a way for us to release a new version, check it out, make sure the updates are working, and then later flip a switch to make it available to everyone.
