I wonder if it would be possible to add the option to change so that the game launches in a blank empty space. Bacause when i fire up the game i have to crawl trough 3 FPS to reach the new button because the solar system murders my poor under-powered computer.
Thanks and regards: Spartan117JMC

I agree Dan should do that

It's a reasonable request, and could be useful for troubleshooting. I'll bring it up with the team.

I think something changed with Alpha 11 that is causing the slowdown. With Alpha 10.1 at launch it started with 9 fps. All the updates starting with Alpha 11 it is 3 fps.
On another topic at launch Alpha 10.1 used less than 500 MB of RAM. Alpha 13 preview uses over 800 MB.

Most likely has to do with Graphical improvements meaning the Solar system demands more Ram. that's my guess anyways :P

I usually run at 98-104'ish FPS when in-game.. as long as i'm in empty space xD

Follow up:
On my Core2 Duo E8400 CPU:
Now Alpha 14.1 runs 27 fps at launch, a huge speed up.
And Alpha 14.1 uses 890 MB of RAM.
Alpha 10.1 ran at 9 fps and used less than 500 MB of RAM.
Alpha 11 ran at 3 fps and used over 800 MB of RAM.
