Hi everybody !
I'm a french user of Universe Sandbox since 2010, and I am very Impress with this second version.
But I have a question: How to create a planet that contains life?
I tried to take the characteristics of the Earth, it does not work ... If it's possible, can I create a city, and see the lights from space?

Technically it is, we can defy physics in Ubox, I could make a star the size of a galaxy and I'm not even sure anything that massive exists, so adding thing's like city lights isn't too far a stretch, but if I remember right, GA said that they'd probably wont go that route but who knows, it might eventually be added in (don't shoot down a potentially good idea ) city lights do appear in game but are rare, I made quite a few planet's, very cold ones I might add, that had city lights on them that were rather densely packed I haven't had the patience to make a habitable world since alpha 12 so it might not be there anymore. A bug maybe?

I ask because in the game, we can see the habitable zone, why show it if it is useless?

well then we could see approximately where life would form if that particular star was there

Life is simply not implemented yet, but I have heard that it will be worked on in 2015 or something.

Yea that's a pretty common suggestion. I personally think that it'd be hard to implement such feature because we don't know for sure how life begins and if life always happens at certain conditions. There can be a planet identical to ours that has no life.... who knows?

Agreed. There's no way to do this now, but I hope it's where we'll eventually end up.

I agree I hate how idiots try to shoot down good ideas while they ask for terrible stuff or useless improvements. Life is one of the most anticipated things to come in this game and it should be here by the end of the year according to the developers. :D

As far as I know it's random and doesn't have anything to do with habitability. Just mess around a bit. I'm not sure if it's still implemented in the current version though.

Idk. Its a glitch... I made it by accident

basically just pause the game and put a bunch of random rocky planets everywhere and go in chart mode. Some will have city lights on them. I have a collection of like 15
