Title: Collision bug
Post by: adtdeveloping on August 11, 2014, 05:34:57 AM
When I smash stuff at the earth. It becomes a ball of lava.
But the temperature lowers.

It started at about 14.5.

After smashing Ganymede in it 5 times the temperature stayed 14.5.

For some reason the impacts no longer heat the planet?

They should heat up planets, try turning off Climate Mode, or turn it on if you have it disabled.

I tried both. But it made no difference.
It only heats up with like one degree when shooting the moon or Ganymede to the earth.

Strange..
It may also depend on the speed you use in collision.

I used the standard solar system. And smashed some moons at the earth

Currently the climate model is not accounting for impact heating, so you'll get different behavior when the climate is turned on, or off on a planet. We're aiming to have a consistent response across the models, but for now it's on the to-do list.
