i don't need money but a t-shirt or a special edition of the game would be cool

I think getting the early access to try the game as it's being developed, before everyone else, and even for free, is more than enough reward already. :P

Plenty of people would think the game was reward enough! learn to be grateful. So many would have been happy with just the game.

I think he's just afraid of being gone and forgotten. But yeah, having the Alpha is basically a gift from God.
