I really think that Alpha 7 is awesome enough to be the open alpha. This way, many universe sandbox fan won't have to wait too much !
What do you think ?

I think it's too early, the programme has a lot of bugs and there is much to do. :)

Maybe ! But this problem could be solved by updating the open alpha ! I dont care of the bug for now, the alpha look AWESOME !

with 50 testers, may as well be a public alpha, as much as it makes me feel special being one of 50 checking the forum every few hours.

Alpha 7 will not be the public alpha. We've changed too many things and it's still pretty rough around the edges. It needs more time.
That said, internally, we've been throwing around a release date and are working toward that now. We're not ready to make any public promises outside of that date being in the next 5 months.

I think later in the year or 2015 there will be a beta for anyone who pre-orders the game. Although I could have a faulty re-call on this.

I personally don't think that's a good idea.
1. There are a lot of bugs and the forum will be flooded with bug reports of the same thing.
2. The excessive bugs may put people off from using Ubox ever again

Weren't you asking a while ago when the open alpha would be and anticipating it. Also, it's called an alpha for a reason.
The multiple threads about the same bug is a good point though and will take some moderation and also some effort on the part of others to look for threads on the same bug.

Either way, there's another Alpha signup now, so go sign up if you want to test it.

I wouldn't be complaining if the alpha was open, I've been a closet universe sandboxer for a while and am ready for something new even if it is a bit buggy ;D
