Title: How Jupiter looks
Post by: Becrux on February 21, 2014, 09:19:47 AM
I think Jupiter don't look finished... I hope there will be more editing to this cool planet.

For example: The red big dot is missing and the impacts of Shoemaker-Levy 9 are missing too.  :(

Hai ragione!
Sarebbe bello  poterci interagire, esempio: farci scontrare la luna e creare una super tempesta gassosa!  ;D

Btw, why change the image of the planets at all? Just use the image that correctly represents the actual planet.

yeah it's fine if it's a bit broken, it's a lot better than opening a new tab, google translate, copy it back, etc. thanks

Nope. People speak many different languages and all are welcome here. Please stop being so harsh and judgmental toward others.

If you use Chrome, you could install this extension to make translation easy:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/context-menu-for-google-t/kigmfpmcomhecmajcfiianbhjgcenado

Ideally if you've written a post in something other than English, it would be great if you could add the Google translation below it.

Our technique for generating gas giants allows the surface to be animated and not be static...

Fair point. There is much room for improvement and we'll consider ways of preserving the animated surface while adding support for storm systems like the giant red spot. That said... the impacts from Shoemaker-Levy 9 are no longer visible. Those are just smaller storms.

Yes, in the video demo conference, Dan was talking about the troubles of mixing procedural and texture surfaces. But right now, with all the awesome stuff going on, this is NOT priority at all. Also, this should be on the suggestions or screenshots page. I wish people would stop making useless threads about this kind of stuff. This is why we have so many discussions, people!  ::)

Not that my opinion matters.
