If you dont get hat Im saying, I mean that the Milky Way was born by two galaxies colliding. Is this true or false?
-
False. The milky way would be irregular or elliptical, not a barred spiral.
-
It can re-shape!
-
I can re shape!
Was that necessary?
-
YES ;D ;D ;D
Oh, sorry, I meant IT can reshape.
-
I think I read or watched something saying that the Milky Way could be a Galaxy with a collision in it's past.
-
False is the answer.
-
It can re-shape!
-
No, it can't. Once an ellipse is formed, it cannot change.
-
the answer to your question as I see it is iether yes or no, depending on what you mean. If you mean that it was formed from one giant collision then I think its possible but unlikely since as deoxy99 said we aren't an elliptical galaxy, but all galaxies are believed to be built from a small core galaxy at the beginning that eats and joins with others to form the modern galaxy, in fact the milky way is currently eating several dwarf galaxies.

Then I wonder how MW and M 31 (Andromeda) got two black holes...
