matty isn't going to do it and we have no elevation so universalis is fake give up on life

I like the concept, but if we create a layer for different points in time, it'd be a terrible mess if e.g. terrain is updated on Universalis, meaning we'd have to change all the layers.yeah, thats what i also thought. Since Lysteriok is a mess right now, it may be changed again, so im thinking of just not doing to much with this right now. But then again, im willing to update the layers when needed, so w/e.
Actually it may be possible, if we just don't edit those areas that aren't final yet. For example I could make old borders for Blaist Blaland-region without drawing on other areas on the map that aren't final, and then they could be edited when they are actually final, and there could be just a base map layer that'd be the only one needing to be updated if we change terrain. That should work.
Some ideas:Yeah, we should do that soon.
Kol that file size is quickly approaching upload limit. We should probably change to the compressed file type like on Universalis if this continues.
Maybe it'd be better not to include the white parts on each historical layer? If the terrain changes, it'll all have to be changed. Better to only have known historical countries on those layers.I agree. I have just been too lazy to get rid of the white parts, but yeah feel free to do that if you wish.
Also the colors of current countries don't seem to follow the actual borders perfectly, and with the borders there's also an uncertainty on which country the border pixels belong to. Maybe it'd be better to draw borders for historical countries like we use borders on the actual map?Yeah i also kinda got lazy with this too. Idk how to make the borders perfect other than meticulously tracing them with the pencil tool, which would be very tedious and I'd rather just use the brush tool (which would yield a pretty accurate result within less time.) Imo I don't see much of a big deal with it, because the scale of the map is too large to be accurate anyway (I believe each pixel is 10km?) so that's why I used a 2px brush tool instead.
i am a proponent of bordering, i really don't like how it looks with just blobs of colors right next to each othereh i didn't make historical borders initially just because I feel colors would help you see smaller nations better and whatnot. But it would be interesting to have borders too.
i was thinking of just making a seperate border layer for each colored layer so you could have just borders, colored nation w/ borders, or borderless
