Hello all, im new here. Although not new to Universe Sandbox, have spent many many hours with this program and i like it very much. The only program i can find that has these awesome features as "create your own universe".
And because i use alot of time with this software, and see that there has not been an update in some time, im just curious about when we could exspect to see one? : )

We have no idea. Dan is currently in the Vincinity of Betelgeuse.
-
I thought Dan randomly popped in and out of existence.
-
No, he just had surgery after drinking a Pan Gargle Galactic Blaster.
-
Oh. Well, Dan hasn't made a single post in 12 days, so he might be working on a ton of code.
-
he hasnt been posting because he is still recovering from his Gargle blaster!!!!! he is thinking about letting Marvin take over.
-
Tan Fargle Universe Imploder
it'd be cool if what we did in Universe sandbox happened in the universe :D
*but also, very, very, scary!*
-
that would mean mars would be in a binary orbit with another planet and mars would be habitable!!!!
-
Nah, let's just throw a bunch of Jupiters at the Sun. Bye Earth! :P
-
Dan is really busy from what I heard. Just have to wait till he has news for us.
-
cool, whered you hear about him being busie?

Hey everyone. Sorry for the extended absence.
It's true, I've been at Betelgeuse where I've been working on the next big update.
I'm no longer the sole developer of Universe Sandbox. Because of the success on Steam I've been able to hire two additional developers (Chris and Georg) to help make Universe Sandbox even better.
Chris has been rethinking the way the code is organized and how all the internal systems work together. Georg has been totally focused on graphics, creating awesome shaders for the planets and amazing procedural textures for the stars. I'm really pleased with the progress we've already made.
While there are many new features that I want to start working on right now, we're thinking long term to make sure the code base will be ready for all the exciting features still to come.
It's going to be awhile before the next major update is release, but I'll be posting new screenshots later this month and saying more about it soon.
-
Oh, okay. I understand the absence now.
-
it's been a long time my brothers lol long no see people I see that a update is coming soon ;D ;D ;D
-
See! I KNEW he was at Betelgeuse!
OT: Congradulations on the other developers and I hope the next update is a BIG one.
P.S: (postal service) this message is nonesense.
-
Which means it might be 2.2?
-
No. It would be 2.13
-
how the update going Dan ;D
-
Will the update be a standalone release, or will it be a true update? i.e. free for owners of US2?
-
all ubox 2 updates will be free for anyone who has universe sandbox 2.
if a universe sandbox 3 comes out (probably not anytime in the near future), you'll (almost) definitely have to pay full price.
-
just wait for universe sandbox 3 it will come out........ by 2015 XD :D
-
ehh, how about wait for the next one first :P
can't wait for new graphics, i do love the transparent control panel unlike us1. Also, the fact that it takes up less than half the screen.
-
It will be nice to see the new US2 graphics!!! :o

He wanted to stay at Betelgeuse but it went Novae. We will see the novae in about 600 years.
