Title: Planet resource pack
Post by: Quizer9O8 on June 09, 2014, 12:17:38 PM
Hi there, I'm looking for a good realistic planet resource pack to use on my current solar system.
Do one of you know where i can get a collection of flat planet maps with rocky planets, hatible planets, moons, gas planets and water worlds. Thanks for reading.

You have to download this one-by-one. Also, six of them aren't even for celestial bodies. But they're high-res and they work.

Also, this is a texture pack for KSP.

Like clouds, depths, details and a reapiting cycle (No ugly cuts) in the map.
These one were quite amazing but I want to make my solar system more unique.
If you know a planet map creator or whatever you call it let me know.

Just search "Planet Texture Maps with clouds". You'll get some badass stuff.
Or just use this guy:

That map generator is not one you want to use for a planet texture.

Why not? Just click "Create" and drag the map image to your desktop, then upload it to the UBOX files.

Too bad you can't make Jovian Planets in it, though.

It's a map. Not a planet texture.

I've alreeady tried it. Look I'm not a digital art master so thats why I'm looking for the right stuff to make my solar system nice. If i could make it better I would do it myself but I can't.

I'm really sorry, but you'll have to wait a short while. I don't really have one since I'm touring Italy for some time.

I launched a free tool last Sunday called Textures for Planets. It has built in plugins for terrestrial, martian, gas giant, ice, fungal, swamp, etc. and is very easy (I hope) to use. Feedback would be welcome if you try it out.

You can download it free at http://www.texturesforplanets.com (http://www.texturesforplanets.com).

Here are a few sample worlds I created from it:

They're good for games but they might do for your purposes here. Hope it helps.
