I started in forest and then climbed up the mountain....punched a tree and dug a stair for no reason.

...tried a blarchitectural-type building. with those strange spinny stairs.

Yes, I also get very self-centered when I play with my height mod.
I think the terrain generation has changed in the mod. There are ridiculously tall and steep mountains everywhere.

i'm pretty sure thats just the hills becoming mountains. I tried out around 20 seeds before i got this one with mountains. and another with floating islands and mountains
edit: lol fixed the title

Even if the mountains were half that height, they would still be very high. For example the mountains I posted go all the way to the sky limit, and they aren't even in a mountain biome. I've never seen a mountain like that outside a mountain biome after 1.8. There also seem to be many more overhangs than in the normal worlds. But yes, it is also possible that the hills just seem much higher now, or that I've got some lucky seeds.

Hint: If you want stairs in your "Bla-style mining central", remember to make the corners 3x2, as a 1x2 field on them has to have stairs on it.

yeah i noticed that but i didn't want to make the stairs turn too many times. i made the outer block into a railing type thing.

mining central kompletd
there are 3 levels, all completely inside the diamond spawning area and the floor of the bottom layer is where the lava layer is, so i can easily pour water and obsidianfy any lava pools with no danger. 3x3 tunnel extends from each side of each level. i just started making them. They'll go 90 blocks (easily extendible at anytime). a branch will extend from the right and left every 3 blocks (3 block inbetween branches). The branches will for many underground concentric square ring-liek shapes. At the entreace to each tunnel is a crafting table, a chest, and 2 furnaces

Nice. You should make a building from surface to sky limit with glass floors (or preferably only one, or at least some part of the center where you can look directly down). Then post a pic of you looking down or up. :P
