The Whirlpool Galaxy is my favorite! I was a little bit in doubt between that and the Pinwheel Galaxy, but the red nebulae in the Whirlpool Galaxy are very beautiful, and it's arms. I got a fantastic picture of it in a huge astronomy book, where every page has the size of an A3 paper.

What is the book? Is it The Atlas of the Universe? That is a BIG book.

I measured The Atlas of the Universe, and it was made with A3 paper.

hoag's object is amazing and also really freaky at the same time

i mean, there's probably some species that lives there (or nearby) that is like 'wtf is this ring thing' and it gets me thinking about how many civilizations might be in that picture, and how many uninhabited worlds we'll never know anything about, more so than any other galaxy image
