Plus competing (often) promotes advancement and ingenuity... As long as it's not competing for the most nukes.
The thing is that in this process they keep a lot of things secret to stop others from finding out first (patents for example or secret recepies), or simply don't share their knowledge which others could benefit from. If everybody shared their knowledge and discoveries and cooperated instead, I think that would lead to more advancements.

People have aspirations to do things and that should fuel advancements alone. Robots can do the stuff people don't want to do.

Well I can see the need for patents in the capitalist system. Consider just Universe Sandbox, if it cannot patent to at least some extent, then everyone could copy the game and give it freely to everybody else or sell it themselves and Dan would have no way to live from working on the game other than from donations.
Not that I know your alternative system to it, you can tell us about it. I don't have to ask you questions about it if you don't want it.

Ethanthova has a massive burocracy that tracks every company and it's actions, when they get to a certain size, they are assimilated by the government as a public enterprise. they still get to have most of the control, but everything they do can be looked up by the general public via a transparency resource.

Everybody gets the basics, a roof, access to food, a tv, and internet access at it's most simplest. From this you can live, if you desire, you work, acquire currency which allows you to add and upgrade to these.

In fact their economy grew fastest while it had autarkic policies... It began to stagnate in the 1970's and began to import a lot of things. There are several reasons why, the main one their military spending being gigantic compared to their total production (like North Korea today compared to the west), and later Saudi Arabia increasing oil production, making oil prices fall sharply and ruining the USSR balance of payments. World War 2 is also worth mentioning and the fact that despite much bigger destruction, the east got no help compared to the west from the intact USA.
With that said, no, having an isolated economy doesn't make it better, and surely the USSR's economy would've done much better if it could've cooperated with an industrialized socialist west rather than being undermined by and protecting itself against it.
And having an autarkic economy reduces interdependence. It's more of a necessity from international politics than an economic policy.

Stalin definitely was one of the most evil people to ever exist. As for the rest of USSR's history it was hardly more evil than USA (not that that's not more than evil enough). Both of them were ready to kill millions of people around the planet to stop each other. USA has supported countless dictatorships to undermine the USSR and even installed a few, and certainly is still corrupt to this day. With no bipolar system today, USA has decided to treat Earth as its playground and testing site for missiles.
Both countries have pissed on either social, civil or political rights of its citizens to some extent. The USSR was in no way ideal but I think there are some good things socialists can learn from it in how to (and not to) build a socialist society.
