Enjoy a handful of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements like the ability to quickly fly to planets just by selecting an already selected object. We\u2019ve also updated our game engine and improved support for High Dynamic Range (HDR) displays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A New Sednoid In the Outer Solar System<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The recently discovered sednoid <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2023_KQ14\">2023 KQ14<\/a> orbits way out in the Oort Cloud with Sedna, and its position challenges the current predictions of a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Planet_Nine\">hypothetical Planet Nine<\/a> in our Solar System. Check it out in our new simulation <strong>Sednoid 2023 KQ14<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/universesandbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/New-Sednoid-Zoom-Out-GIF.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6433\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Updating Our Engine<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve updated Unity, the game engine we use to build Universe Sandbox, to version 6.1. This update allows us to further improve our visuals with more accurate lighting, better support for High Dynamic Range (HDR) displays, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/universesandbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Earth-100-Moons.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6434\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">More Highlights<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Clicking on a selected object now flies you to the object.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/universesandbox.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Third-Click-Fly-GIF.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6436\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019ve improved <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/High_dynamic_range\">HDR (High Dynamic Range)<\/a> support for those with HDR-compatible monitors. Playing Universe Sandbox with HDR on adds higher contrast and more vibrant colors.
