it looks like a swirly cotton candy
eating europe.

i never new they had typhoons in europe though. It's slightly bizzare, like tornados in antarctica.

From the greek and roman myths, it sounds like they could still get some pretty nasty storms in the Mediterranean, however, mythology has negative reliability as far as meteorology in ancient times.

Meaning that mythology is not useful for what happened month to month, year to year and things like personal accounts, records, and tree rings are more reliable.

Plus I'm not even claiming to know anything about what the general Mediterranean weather is like at this time of year

This would be the first recorded cyclone, there are others that have been suspected but no one has officially tracked them yet. They don't normally, mudkipz, there's about .5 a year, way less than the SATL, which in a good year, gets 2.

DVORAK CLASSIFICATIONS AT 0600 UTC WERE 90 KT AND 102 KT
FROM SAB AND TAFB...RESPECTIVELY. HOWEVER...RECENT ADT VALUES AND A
SPECIAL CLASSIFICATION FROM TAFB REVEAL HIGHER ESTIMATES.
THEREFORE...THE INITIAL WIND SPEED IS SET AT 110 KT...AND THAT
COULD BE CONSERVATIVE.
THIS MAKES KENNETH A MAJOR HURRICANE...

Kenneth is now the strongest Eastern Pacific November hurricane on record.

Kenneth totally looks cat 4, not cat 3.

10 knots from cat 5 much (going by ADT) and 24 hours to go before weakening is expected to begin

hey, can like hurricanes collide and "merge"
Fujiwhara interaction Wink

Could you see Hurricanes, Cyclones, and Typhoons from outer space if you were close enough to earth?

That would be exactly how all these images are taken, from geostationary orbit, 35,786 km above the Earth's surface. Wink

I lol'd at the category classifications. Those are the destruction/damage/effects classifications. To my knowledge a category 3 is not called an "Extensive hurricane" it causes "Extensive" damage.
