GPU Compute \ Multithreaded Physics
« on: November 06, 2018, 12:06:47 PM »
Is there currently any plans to bring back GPU compute to the game engine? I find this option to run better with the physics  in the older builds of the game, however I know that the devteam changed the physics engine in one of the recent updates so.

The other question is how many threads can the game currently run for physics computations? I have a 16 core system and was just curious as to whether the engine takes advantage of this or not.

I have an 8 core CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 - with 16GB RAM. Universe Sandbox 2 on my PC runs very well.

I mean it runs great for me as well. but when making my videos with high particle counts I was wondering if they could squeeze any further performance out.

My 8 core processor can also handle many particles such as rings and asteroid belts.
