maybe you should make older versions completely free... as in US.1 US.2, when US.3 comes out 2 and 1 will be free.

If they aren't already, and if there even is completely different versions.

Because they are still all very good pieces of software.

Hey Dan

I know this wouldn't make universe sandbox free, but it would make more widely available. Have you considered getting in touch with a game development studio, if this is possible you might be able to use there resources to accelerate the development of Universe Sandbox.

When the development is completed all that is required is a publisher (Excalibur Publishing is known for simulation games) and this would get Universe Sandbox more recognised, more publicity and it would likely be available on disk for people who don't want to pay for things online for various reasons.

What does everyone think?

There's probably just one thing you need for all of this .... money

It's an interesting situation that I find myself in as the product is no longer only about me, as it's now supporting 5 people (and eventually some people on a part time basis - sound, music, art, localization).

I'm certainly open to ideas on how to convert Universe Sandbox to a free to play model that generates a sustainable income for continued development for years to come.

And the announcement I mentioned earlier is still coming, but was delayed a few weeks more than I expected.

Are you deprived of money? If so, save up enough money, ask an allowance from your parents, or get a job. There's probably countless ways to gain money to buy Universe Sandbox...
