Moon crashes into Io [video]
« on: June 29, 2009, 11:23:50 AM »
I crashed our moon into Io.
Herre look at it and see my way too simulate the behavior of the both moons. You see, that botth get completly destroyed but later a new, more massive moon is formed.

As you see, i form the moons from many pieces. Its not hard to do and easy to realize.

First of all, the video is great. I'll add it to the user video page on the main site.

No explanation on how?

That can duplicated by:

- Launching one moon at another
- Setting the collision mode to "Bounce"
- "Exploding" both moons with the explode velocity set to 0.

Ah Dan, always edit my posts.

I changed the subject of the post to be more informative. I also changed the text to be less confrontational. :)

It is obvious... There will be an alien race that wants to kill all of us, and will start by taking our moon (with our colonies on it), make it travel till the far far far away Jupiter and make it crash into Io.... obviously...

;D

By the way I think that it is an hypotetical chrash that will never happens. It is just for showing that collisions are possible

(All of this if I understood what you written :P)

Its not about if it would happen.
It just show the effects of a frontal crash of 2 stellar bodies with almost same mass and size.

Dan you should add this to user videos. It's really good.
