Exposing shaders...

Is there any way in a future version the shaders could be exposed, so that we can modify them. As a graphics programmer/shader artist I want so badly to be able to tweak shader code, especially for things like normal maps, parallax displacement effects, and best of all, procedural effects such as clouds, or even tectonic movement.
